The "Workshop" is where the various tools are selected. There is a "getting acquainted" module, a virtual plate tectonics lecture, a profile game, a geography game, the MAP data tool, and a graphics composition and editing tool

The purpose of the Plate Tectonics Lecture is to help the student become familiar with the theory of plate tectonics. It consists of 30 minutes of video animations created by Prof. Tanya Atwater of UCSB. The Profile Game helps students learn to visualize 3-dimensional geological structures using elevation profiles. The Geography Game helps students recognize important features on a world map. I have found that some students can't find the Atlantic Ocean and various continents. This game is sscored. The MAP data is where learners access the earth data they will use in their investigations. The Graphics Workshop allows images to be combined, edited, and printed.
