Editing Assignments: You can only change assignments that you "own." You can take ownership by copying the assignment to your resource library. Do this by going to the Manager, click on the "Writing Assignments" button. Choose the assignment you want to copy and click "Copy to my Lib."
Editing example and calibration papers for writing assignments: Assignment must be linked. Select and "Do" the assignment, from the assignments index. At the Writer Index, click "Edit My Paper." At this point, you can use the View menu to do View-->My Paper, View-->Calib1, or Calib2, or Calib3 (if it's a cpr assignment). I like to first write a calibration paper as "My Paper" then save it as a calibration. Same goes for Examples. Save As-->Calibration will save the paper as a calibration. Calib1 is the first calib paper, Calib2 is the second, and Calib3 is the third. You can also do Save As-->Example with any paper that is currently active in the Writer.
Note: You must score your calibration papers using the scoresheet. The creation of a calibration paper is an iterative process where the assignment description, scoresheet, and ideal (best) calibration papers are written first. You can use student papers as examples by logging into a class that has completed, and loading selected papers as calibration papers.
Browsing Assignments: From the Manager Index, do a search on the kind of assignment you want to browse. You will get to a display window that shows all of the assignments that meet the selected criteria. Pick one, then click "Browse Assig." You will not be able to edit the assignment unless it is owned by you.
Entering students into the class roster: You can enter students in two ways. 1) The first, and easiest, is to create Activation Codes. Log into the class you want, go to the Manager. Do "Operations-->Activation Codes. You can create as many activation codes as you want. Print them out and give them to students.. Each student's activation code is unique, and the activation code is also specific to your class. In an online environment, you will need to copy them to the clipboard and email them to students. In the future, this will be more automatic and students will get their code by paying a fee through PayPal.
2) The second way is to create a spreadsheet, save it as csv text, and import it. In the Manager, do "Operations-->Student Roster" (Note: if you don't see this item under the Operations menu, choose "Users"). The format for the spreadsheet is specified on the screen.
