Driving Instructions from Hood River Inn to Bill's Northwestern Lake cottage:

Please car pool from HR Inn. Parking is somewhat limited at my cottage.

Exit from the HR Inn parking lot, turning right onto the toll bridge (75 cent toll). After you cross the bridge, turn left and go about 1 mile until you see the "Highway 141 Alternate" sign. Turn right onto it.

Follow Highway 141 Alternate to the top of the ridge where you intersect with the main Hwy 141. Follow it for a mile or two until you see a sign, on the right, to NorthWestern Lake Park. This sign is placed right after you go over a slight hill, so it's easy to miss. If you cross a bridge at "Husum," you've gone too far. Watch for a yellow intersection sign on the right, then start slowing as you pass it.

Take the NW Lake Park turnoff and follow it across a short bridge, and go past the park. Watch for the next left onto a paved road with a center line. The road sign is gone, but you can see a sign indicating horseback riding stables. Take that road.

Go 2 miles. The road will turn to gravel. The road forks - take the left fork. Go past the house and horse corral on the left. Watch for another (more narrow) gravel road turning left. It's named Lakeside Drive. Take it. Follow it past one driveway, then there will be a steep driveway with sign with the number 241 on it. Go up that driveway. Please try not to spin your wheels, as it destroys the driveway. Myself, I get a run at it like a kamikaze bat out of heck, get a run at it, then slow as I climb so the wheels don't spin. Do your best. No worry.
